Family Leaders
The Family Leaders (two from each family) are elected in the Autumn term. They have to campaign and give a speech to the children in their families, who then vote for them. It is a rigorous and highly competitive process!
In their role, the Family Leaders uphold Article 12 of the UNCRC, to respect the views of the child. They meet with Mrs Kendrick most weeks, where they discuss key school issues. This year, they have contributed to the Homework Policy and have planned events in school (such as the Family Quizzes and Healthy Hursthead Day). They also lead Family Meetings every half term, where they update their families on the School Development Priorities and gather feedback from their peers to bring back to Mrs Kendrick.
