Under the SEND Code of Practice (2014) the local authority have a statutory duty to publish their local offer. This should set out the support they expect to be available for children and young people with SEND. It includes information about provision across education, health and social care in their area

The Local Offer has two key purposes:

•To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it

•To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving children and young people with SEND, their parents and service providers in its development and review.
